Ignoring the facts is the biggest crime

Shape was established in July 2003 by a coalition of voluntary agencies - Barnardo's, The Children's Society, Nacro, NCH, NSPCC and the National Children's Bureau. These organisations believed that debates about youth crime needed to take place in a more rational way, to benefit all of society, particularly children and young people.

Despite these valuable aims, Shape closed because of funding problems and its website has been taken down.

This report, about the way the media covers youth crime, was published by Shape in April 2004 and we are posting it here because it does not appear to be available anywhere else online.
