Set up in 1983 as the professional body (and registered educational charity) for those working in, or with an interest in, radio. A strong membership base from board members to those starting their careers, focussing on exchange of information and debate within the industry, improvements in the art and techniques of radio broadcasting and original, creative radio, disseminating the results of experiments & research, advancing the education of the public in radio broadcasting, etc. Has system of supporters and fellows (Jenny Abramsky CBE) including best known names in radio.

Set up by TV journalist Jake Lynch and Anna McGoldrick through a series of Conflict and Peace Forums in 1996 to generate new ideas and practical approaches to conflict transformation in all fields and to develop journalistic ethics around coverage of conflict. Operates as an independent think tank based at Taplow Court, Berkshire, it offers conferences, training courses, 'round table' discussions and consultancy and produces a variety of publications. Has links with PressWise.
