The Media Society promotes freedom of expression and encourages high standards in journalism. It brings together people working in all branches of the media - radio and television production and broadcasting, newspapers and magazines, new media, academia and media law. Its membership includes senior figures and those at the beginning of their careers. At home The Media Society works with university media departments to award an annual bursary to a promising student, and abroad helps support young journalists working under difficult conditions.
